BBQ Smoked Sausage
2 Hours, 40 Minutes
Slice sausage lengthwise, and then cut into about 4” pieces.
Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Sauté sausage in batches for about 1-2 minutes until browned on both sides. Transfer browned sausage to a double layer of paper towels and blot away excess grease. Then, transfer to slow cooker.
Whisk together water, vinegar, and preserves, and pour over sausage. Cover and cook in slow cooker for 2-3 hours on high setting.
Optional: Turn slow cooker to warm setting until ready to serve.
Serve sausage on sandwiches using Martin’s Potato Rolls, such as this kielbasa, baked beans, and cole slaw barbecue sandwich.
